What is Bluewater? Bluewater is people, pure and simple.
Blue Water Church is a diverse community of people young and old, saints and sinners united by one common truth: we are all God’s children, deeply loved, fully accepted, and called to love others well.
Jesus is at the center of everything we do. His presence shapes who we are, His character transforms how we live, and His power equips us to serve our community with compassion and purpose. We believe faith is meant to be lived out daily through authentic relationships, serving others, and walking closely with the Holy Spirit.
No matter where you are in your journey, you belong here. We are a church that values presence over perfection, relationship over religion, and love over judgment.
You’ll find us at Mile Marker 86.5 on Plantation Key, between Founder’s Park and the Snake Creek Drawbridge. Come enjoy great coffee, friendly faces, and experience the presence of God’s great love.

Darin & Jennifer Greenfield
Darin & Jennifer have deep and wide spiritual roots and commitment to the mission of Jesus. Darin serves us in worship leadership and Jennifer shares her gifts in teaching and personal ministry. Natives of Texas, now firmly planted here in the Upper Keys, Darin is employed by AT&T and Jennifer is a healthcare professional with Baptist Health of South Florida.
Jeff & Christi Dupre
Jeff and Christi are seasoned leaders and valuable spiritual guides for Bluewater. Jeff's background in marketing, finance, and leadership lend great gravity and foundation as a trusted advisor. Christi's spiritual leadership and community activism in prayer ministry and cooperative effort in her oversight of the Florida Keys House of Prayer are invaluable to our mission of developing disciples of Jesus, active in love and care.
Gerald & Jessica
Frybarger
Gerald and Jessica, originally hailing from West Virginia, made the move to Bluewater about a year and a half ago, bringing with them a deep love for Jesus and a passion for community. Gerald jumps in with enthusiasm, serving on the board and lending his tech skills to enhance our worship experience. Meanwhile, Jessica pours her heart into leading our children’s ministry, creating a warm and nurturing space for our kids. Their vibrant faith and genuine care for others truly light up our community!
Phil and Sherry Underwood
Founders of Bluewater in The Keys and an Islamorada resident for ten years. Phil has also served in the Keys as:
- Member of the Monroe County Long Term Recovery Group in Funding and Allocations for Hurricane Irma
- Chairperson of the Monroe County COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster)
- Twice-elected board member of the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce,
- Graduate and Board Member of Leadership Monroe County
- President of the Upper Keys Ministerial Alliance.
Life Wisdom
Parents to five adult children and grandparents to six amazing little ones. They are alumni of Lee University. Phil has also studied at Rhema Bible College and post-graduate studies at Reformed Theological Seminary. Phil & Sherry now reside in Atlanta, Georgia and maintain a closer relationship to their roots and family.
Global Ambassador for Bluewater
Phil & Sherry serve as Pastors Emeritus of Bluewater In The Keys and maintain a close mentoring relationship with the congregation. In addition, their new work, Epic Grace Ministries assists leaders around the world establishing the mission of Jesus, and personally they live to make disciples, immersing people in the identity of the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe what Jesus teaches.
Friend of people around the globe. Phil's energy, insight and understanding coaches people as they move from maintenance to mission. As the old African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
